The Illinois Senate on Feb. 14, 2013 approved redefinition of marriage legislation by a 34-21 vote. Click on the photo to start the video of the Senate debate. Sen. Martin Sandoval, D-Chicago, severely criticizes the Catholic Church at the 36-minute mark.
Rhode Island lawmakers are also currently debating redefinition of marriage legislation. Although the measure has passed the House, its chances for approval are not considered a slam dunk in the Senate.
