We have incredibly great news to share! Thanks to your prayers, tireless efforts and engagement with your legislators on the dangerous assisted suicide bills, the legislation did not pass the Senate. It was not called for a vote in the Illinois Senate before adjournment.

Our partners in the Stop Assisted Suicide Coalition, which included those that serve the disability community, doctors, nurses and other grassroots organizations were instrumental in keeping this from becoming law. This victory is a powerful reminder that when we work together for the sacredness of life, we can and do make an impact.

But we know this is not over. The proponents of assisted suicide will return in the future and remain determined to push this legislation forward.

Your commitment to life and advocacy on this issue has been incredible. From every phone call, letter, to every prayer, your advocacy has been heard. Let’s continue this momentum, remain vigilant, because there will be an attempt to pass this when the General Assembly reconvenes again, perhaps as soon as this summer.

Thank you for all you have done and continue to do. Together, we know there is a better way forward for Illinois residents who are facing the end of their natural lives.
