Next, Daniel Philpott, professor of political science at the University of Notre Dame, discusses the executive order on advancing international religious freedom recently signed by President Donald Trump. Dr. Philpott wrote a column about the executive order for America magazine. Then, Auxiliary Bishop Ron Hicks, who serves as vicar general of the Archdiocese of Chicago, talks about the process of safely reopening churches for public Mass amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, Peter Newburn, ecumenical officer for the Diocese of Joliet, discusses highlights from Saturday’s virtual ecumenical rally for racial justice.
