May 21, 2012 show

Deacon Richard Hudzik of Chicago talks with Bob about President Barack Obama's recent statement of support for same-sex marriage — the deacon is a member of CCI's Defense of Marriage department. Bob then speaks about Cardinal George's letter to all Catholics in the Archdiocese about the two-pronged threat of the HHS mandate. Rev. Bob Vandenbosch of Concerned Christian Americans then joins Bob to discuss Senate Bill 3669, which deals with polling places located at churches. Bob wraps up the show with Elizabeth Vernick of St. Anthony's Hospital in Chicago, who talks about the importance of "safety-net hospitals" — those that serve a large proportion of low-income and uninsured patients — in the face of a call for $2.7 billion in Medicaid cuts.
