Oct. 19, 2020 show

Jennifer Walling, executive director of the Illinois Environmental Council, joins Bob to give an overview of the Clean Energy Jobs Act and how the legislation fits into the eight guiding principle proposed this summer by Gov. J.B. Pritzker. Then, Chris Ross, an attorney specializing in social policy for Catholic Charities USA, talks about the federal government’s proposed and historically-low refugee cap of 15,000 for the new fiscal year. Next. Pat Winn, executive director of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rockford, reviews his nine years at the helm of the social services agency as he prepares to retire. Finally, Fr. Mike Bradley of Chicago discusses the “do-it-yourself” version of the cancelled Chicago Marathon that he recently ran through the streets of the Edgewater neighborhood in order to raise money for the Heart to Heart ministry at St. Gertrude parish. It was the 49th marathon for the 67-year-old.
